Aviation Rescue Swimmer

“So Others May Live”

The mission of the Naval Aviation Rescue Swimmer (ARS) is to execute Search and Rescue (SAR) operations from helicopters. Aviation Rescue Swimmers must be physically conditioned to routinely perform demanding rescues in all operational environments.

It is important that Aviation Rescue Swimmers possess the necessary expertise to provide fleet commanders the ability to assist the Department of Defense (DoD) and civilian personnel in distress over open ocean, land and mountain terrains.

This team is comprised of elite, well-trained, extremely motivated men and women who willingly put their own lives on line "So Others May Live".
